Discovery Academy — це програма розвитку молоді, яка надає якісні освітні можливості, які підкреслюють сильні сторони коледжу Грін-Рівер та їхнього партнера в галузі громадської освіти — коледжу Хайлайн. Ця програма зосереджена на використанні індивідуальних сильних сторін, одночасно використовуючи об’єднані ресурси, потенціал охоплення та рекламні кошти для обслуговування найширшої мережі нашої спільноти South Sound. Академія Discovery має потенціал залучити майбутніх студентів до розвитку освіти на ранньому та ключовому етапі та побудувати стосунки як з окремими людьми, так і з їхніми громадами на порозі вищої освіти. Робота виконується за допомогою інтегрованого та спільного підходу з іншими освітянами громади, партнерами громади, викладачами та адміністративними відділами. В основі нашої діяльності, і ми сподіваємося розвиватися, – це майбутній доступ і освіта як основна увага.
Бачення та цілі
Надання якісного освітнього досвіду студентам дошкільного віку з метою боротьби з COVID та втратою навчання влітку, а також ознайомлення молоді з ландшафтом коледжу. Ця програма має цілеспрямований підхід до цікавого навчального досвіду, заснованого на проектах, і захоплюючу навчальну програму, розроблену викладачами та громадськими партнерами, які є експертами у своїй галузі.

We're excited to offer an unparalleled volunteer opportunity for juniors and seniors, where you'll have the chance to hone your skills, build new ones, and make a difference in the lives of young people.
As part of our team, you'll receive high-quality training and mentorship in a variety of areas including group management, camp procedures and rules, professional communication and conflict resolution, first aid, and leadership. You'll also have the opportunity to lead hands-on activities for groups of kids ages 8-14 and take part in other camp related functions. But the benefits of this experience don't stop there!

Hiring Preference at 18 years of age for Camp Counselor positions, and early notification on future youth worker trainings.
