ACERCA DE LA ACADEMIA DISCOVERY
Discovery Academy es un programa de desarrollo juvenil que brinda oportunidades educativas de calidad que destacan las fortalezas de Green River College y su socio en la educación comunitaria, Highline College. Este programa se enfoca en utilizar las fortalezas individuales mientras aprovecha los recursos combinados, el potencial de alcance y los dólares publicitarios para servir a la red más amplia de nuestra comunidad de South Sound. Discovery Academy tiene el potencial de involucrar a futuros estudiantes en un momento temprano y fundamental en el desarrollo educativo, y construir una relación tanto con las personas como con sus comunidades en la cúspide de la educación postsecundaria. El trabajo se realiza a través de un enfoque integrado y colaborativo con otros educadores de la comunidad, socios de la comunidad, facultad y departamentos administrativos. En el centro de lo que hacemos, y esperamos crecer, está el acceso y la educación en el futuro como su enfoque central.
Visión y Metas
Brindar experiencias educativas de calidad a estudiantes preuniversitarios con el objetivo de combatir el COVID y la pérdida de aprendizaje durante el verano, y presentar a los jóvenes el panorama universitario. Este programa tiene un enfoque centrado en experiencias de aprendizaje divertidas basadas en proyectos y un plan de estudios atractivo, diseñado por profesores y socios de la comunidad que son expertos en su campo.

We're excited to offer an unparalleled volunteer opportunity for juniors and seniors, where you'll have the chance to hone your skills, build new ones, and make a difference in the lives of young people.
As part of our team, you'll receive high-quality training and mentorship in a variety of areas including group management, camp procedures and rules, professional communication and conflict resolution, first aid, and leadership. You'll also have the opportunity to lead hands-on activities for groups of kids ages 8-14 and take part in other camp related functions. But the benefits of this experience don't stop there!

Hiring Preference at 18 years of age for Camp Counselor positions, and early notification on future youth worker trainings.
